Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called a high-level meeting on the Ukraine crisis. If government sources are to be believed, some Union ministers may go to neighboring countries of Ukraine to coordinate the evacuation of Indians. These include Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiren Rijiju, and General (Retd) VK Singh. During the evacuation mission, these people will work to coordinate and help the students.


PM Modi on Sunday insisted on a high-level meeting amid efforts to bring back Indians stranded in Ukraine after the Russian attack. He said that ensuring the safety and early return of Indian students is the top priority of the government.

PM Modi also held a high-level meeting on Sunday. Apart from Prime Minister Modi in this meeting, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and senior central government officials were present. Sources said that the said meeting lasted for more than two hours. The Prime Minister presided over the meeting immediately after returning from campaigning in Uttar Pradesh.

PM Modi has spoken to Putin and Zelensky

Let us know that in view of the global situation arising in the wake of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, Prime Minister Modi had spoken to Russian President Vladimir Putin recently and appealed to stop the violence and start talks. After this, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday held talks with Modi and sought political support from India in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to stop Russia’s military offensive against his country.

India stresses on the restoration of peace between the two countries

During this, India expressed its commitment to contribute in any way to the peace restoration efforts between the two countries. Modi expressed deep anguish over the loss of life and property due to the ongoing conflict there. He also appealed to the Ukrainian authorities to take necessary steps for the speedy and safe evacuation of Indian citizens.
