The third wave of corona virus in the country will also affect the Republic Day parade in the capital Delhi. In view of the increasing cases of corona, the government has reduced the attendance of people during the parade by 70-80 percent. This time only 5000-8000 people will participate in the parade. In normal days the number of people is very high.
Senior Defense Ministry officials said around 25,000 people were allowed to attend last year’s parade. Besides, a decision on whether the chief guest will attend this year’s parade is yet to be taken by the Ministry of External Affairs. There was no chief guest during last year’s parade.

In view of this, the crowd present during the parade has been reduced and limited. However, the exact number of crowds has not been decided yet. But, whenever it happens it will be between 5-8 thousand only.
Officials said people would be encouraged to go for live streaming to watch the parade on TV. Officials said the decision regarding the chief guests is being looked into by the Ministry of External Affairs.
