India has given a target of 238 runs to Pakistan in the Under-19 Asia Cup. Chasing the target, PAK had a poor start and on the second ball, Rajvardhan Hangargekar bowled opener, Abdul Wahid, for zero and gave Team India a big success. Pakistan’s score is 11/1 till 3 overs.
Rajvardhan reminds Ajay Jadeja
In the Under-19 Asia Cup, Team India, batting first after losing the toss, was all out for 237 runs in 49 overs against Pakistan. Pakistan’s fast bowler Zeeshan Jamir had scattered the top order with 5 wickets, but after that wicketkeeper, Aaradhya Yadav (50 runs) and Kushal Tambe (32) took over the innings in the middle order.
Even after this, Team India seemed to be struggling for 200 runs, but all-rounder Rajvardhan Hangargekar, who landed on the 8th down, turned the picture. He scored 33 runs in 20 balls and took the score to 237. Rajyavardhan’s batting style was similar to that of Ajay Jadeja against Pakistan in the 1996 World Cup. Jadeja scored 22 runs in an over from Waqar Younis to take India’s score to 287.
Aaradhya’s first half-century
Batting at number 7, Aaradhya Yadav completed his maiden half-century in youth ODI cricket off 81 balls. This innings of Yadav was seen in very delicate conditions. Aaradhya scored 50 off 83 balls and was dismissed by Zeeshan. He hit 3 fours in his innings.
Zeeshan broke Team India’s back
Young fast bowler Zeeshan Jamir took 5 wickets for 60 runs while bowling amazingly. He created a sensation by dismissing Angkrish Raghuvanshi (0) in the first over and then Rashid Crease (6) and captain Yash Dhul (0) in the third over of the match. Till then India had added only 14 runs. Zeeshan had a chance to complete a hat-trick though he could not. The fourth wicket was taken by Zeeshan in the form of Aaradhya Yadav (50) and the fifth wicket in the form of Rajaywardhan (33).
Yash Dhul became the second Indian captain to be dismissed for a duck on the very first ball in U-19 cricket. First- Ajay Ratra v England, 2001
Harnoor Singh and Raj Bawa added 55 runs in 68 balls for the 5th wicket.
Aaradhya Yadav and Kaushal Tambe added 50 runs in 58 balls for the 7th wicket.
Kaushal Tambe scored 32 runs in 38 balls.
Against PAK, opener Harnoor Singh scored 46 runs in 59 balls in difficult conditions. He hit 6 fours in his innings. Earlier in the last match also, his bat had seen a strong century against UAE. Harnoor scored 120 runs in 130 balls against UAE. This innings also included 11 fours. In the 5 youth ODI matches played so far, the 18-year-old has scored Fifty+ 3 times.
