Campaigning for the February 14 assembly elections in Uttarakhand and Goa ended on Saturday. Both these states are known for political instability where the BJP is trying to retain power. The campaigning for the second phase of elections to be held in Uttar Pradesh on February 14 also ended yesterday. Today the focus will be on Punjab. Leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal are going to rally here today.
While BJP leaders have been calling upon voters to bring a “double engine ki sarkar” again for development, opposition parties like Congress and AAP have been targeting the BJP over the issue of inflation and farmers. All 70 assembly seats in Uttarakhand and 40 seats in Goa will go to the polls on Monday. Apart from this, voting will be held for 55 seats in the second phase of elections in Uttar Pradesh on Monday.
