Conflicts have come to the fore in the BJP’s Rajasthan unit after former chief minister Vasundhara Raje ended her four-day “religious yatra” in six districts. The state leadership distanced itself, calling it Raje’s attempt to make an organization parallel to the BJP. Raje had embarked on a “religious journey” last week in which he offered prayers at temples across Rajasthan and met the families of BJP leaders who lost their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. This yatra is spread over the districts of Udaipur, Banswara, Bhilwara, Ajmer, Pali, and Chittorgarh.

On this visit of Vasundhara Raje, the state unit has decided to send a report to the central leadership, in which public meetings were organized. The list of BJP MLAs, MPs, and former MLAs who participated in this yatra will also be sent. The type of posters displayed during the various meetings and slogans used will also be informed about the use of the party flag. What irked Raje’s state leadership is that the yatra saw the participation of several MLAs and MPs and overwhelming public response.

Senior MLAs including Pratap Singh Singhvi, Rajpal Singh Shekhawat, and former MLAs Yunus Khan and Ashok Parnami actively participated and managed all the preparations for the yatra. Raje, however, has said that she had gone to all temples in the area to offer prayers and offered her condolences to the bereaved families of BJP leaders.

According to a report in Economic Times, Singhvi said, “It was not a political visit. Initially, Vasundhara jihad explained that she could not come and offer condolences to the bereaved families as her own daughter-in-law was unwell. Now that the Covid-19 cases are fewer, they decided to use this time to pay respects to the temples and the families who have lost their loved ones. If the state leadership wants to send the report, it can. But of these Nobody can get anything “

Vasundhara Raje started her journey from Tripura Sundari Temple in Banswara. Khan said, “Vasundhara ji is a deeply religious woman and she had not visited any of these temples since the lockdown. She used this opportunity to express her respect and condolences. Our former minister Joe Vasundhara ji’s Bhavani Joshi, who was in the cabinet, is very close to Tripura Sundari temple, so she went to mourn the death of her brother.”

Vasundhara Raje visited Saawariya ji temple, Mahashraman ji in Bhilwara, Dwarkanath, Charbhuja ji, Nathdwara, Brahma temple in Pushkar and Ajmer Sharif Dargah. The panic of the Satish Poonia-led state unit maybe because of Vasundhara Raje’s political visit. On Raje’s arrival in Ajmer, posters of “Pooniya Bhagao, BJP Bachao” were put up. Raje, however, condemned it and said that she does not support such behavior. “Such posters were never displayed at any venue,” Singhvi said.
