The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can contest the assembly elections in about 62-65 seats in the border state of Punjab. The remaining seats are set to go to Captain Amarinder Singh’s Punjab Lok Congress and Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa’s Shiromani Akali Dal (United). Let us tell you that there is a total of 117 assembly seats in Punjab. In the 2017 elections, Parkash Singh Badal’s Shiromani Akali Dal and BJP contested together. NDA had to face defeat in that election and Congress returned to power after ten years.

The politics of Punjab has changed a lot in 2022. Captain Amarinder Singh, who led the Congress in 2017, resigned from the post of CM last year. After this, he formed his own party Punjab Lok Congress. Captain and BJP are in alliance in this election.

If sources are to be believed, BJP is preparing to contest 62-65 seats. In such a situation, the big question is whether Captain Amarinder Singh will accept fewer seats?
